Realme: Change the Security Question for Your Privacy Password

If you set up the privacy password on your Realme phone but can no longer remember the security question tied to it, you could get locked out of hidden apps and files. The security question acts as the backup recovery method for that password, so an outdated or forgotten answer becomes a real problem the moment you need it. Realme lets you update this question directly from the security settings without wiping your hidden data.

Change Privacy Password Security Question auf Realme

The privacy password on Realme phones protects hidden apps, files, and folders separately from your normal screen lock. Because this password guards sensitive content, Realme UI requires a security question as a fallback recovery option in case you forget it.

Over time, the original answer you picked might become outdated, or you may want a question that is harder for others to guess. Realme UI lets you swap it out at any time, as long as you can still access the privacy password settings.

To change it, go to SettingsPassword & biometricsPrivacy passwordSecurity question and follow the on-screen prompts to pick a new question and answer.

This process only updates the recovery method. It does not reset the privacy password itself or affect any content already hidden behind it.

If you have already forgotten both the privacy password and the current security question, this menu path will not help, since it requires entering the existing privacy password first. In that case, a factory reset may be the only remaining option, which will remove the hidden content along with the lock.

Frequently asked questions

You lose the standard recovery path through SettingsPassword & biometricsPrivacy password. At that point a factory reset is usually the only way back into the phone, and it removes the hidden apps and files together with the lock.
