Realme: Change Video Recording Resolution

Recorded clips come out blurry, oversized, or choppy because the camera app is still set to a resolution or frame rate that does not fit what you actually need. On Realme phones this option sits in its own settings screen inside the camera app, separate from the photo settings, which is why many people never find it. Picking the wrong combination of resolution and FPS also explains why some videos take up far more storage than expected.

Change Video Resolution and Frame Rate auf Realme

Video quality on a Realme phone is controlled by two independent values: resolution and frames per second (FPS). If footage looks soft or pixelated, the resolution is usually set too low. If files grow too large too quickly or storage fills up fast, a high resolution combined with a high FPS value is the likely cause.

Both settings are managed inside the camera app itself, not in the general phone settings. To change them, go to Tap on CameraTap on SettingsTap on Video resolutionSet the Video resolution. Depending on the model, available resolutions include 4K, 1080P and 720P, each with several FPS options to choose from.

Higher resolutions like 4K produce sharper video but generate significantly larger files and can heat up the device during longer recordings. Lower resolutions such as 720P are better suited for quick clips meant for messaging apps, where file size matters more than detail.

If recordings still look choppy after raising the FPS, check available storage first, since a nearly full device can cause frame drops regardless of the selected settings. Switching to a lower resolution instead of a lower FPS often solves stuttering with less impact on visual quality.

Frequently asked questions

Not every Realme model supports the same maximum resolution. If 4K is missing under Tap on Video resolution, the camera sensor on that specific model tops out at 1080P.
