Screen-Off Gestures: Turn On or Off auf Realme
Screen-off gestures let a Realme phone react to touch input while the display stays black. A small sensor layer keeps listening for specific patterns, such as a double-tap or a drawn letter, even though the screen itself draws no power. This is why the feature can drain battery faster on some phones, especially if the phone sits loose in a bag and picks up accidental touches.
The function lives outside the main display settings, inside the convenience tools of Realme UI. To reach it, go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Convenience tools ➔ Tap on Gestures & motions ➔ Tap on Screen-off gestures. From there you can Enable or disable Screen-off gestures globally, or open each entry to Turn On/Off a Gesture individually.
Realme ships three predefined gestures: double-tap to wake the screen, drawing an O to open the camera, and drawing a V to switch on the flashlight. If you want additional shortcuts, tap on Add gesture in the same menu to assign a custom pattern to an app or action.
Turning gestures off completely makes sense if the phone reacts to pocket touches or if battery life matters more than the convenience of a locked-screen shortcut. Turning off only one gesture, for example the camera draw, keeps double-tap to wake active without the accidental camera launches. If the phone still does not respond after these changes, a restart usually clears a stuck sensor state.
