Realme: Auto-Delete Original Screenshots After Editing

Editing a screenshot on your Realme phone often leaves the unedited original sitting in your gallery next to the edited copy, doubling up storage space you don't need. The Screenshot settings control whether that original file gets removed automatically once you save an edit. Without checking this option, screenshots pile up fast if you crop, annotate or mark up images regularly.

Auto-Delete Original Screenshot After Editing auf Realme

When you edit a screenshot on a Realme phone, the system normally saves the edited version as a new file while keeping the untouched original in your gallery. Over time this doubles the number of image files on your device, especially if you frequently crop, annotate or mark up screenshots for work or messaging.

Realme UI includes a setting that removes the original screenshot automatically as soon as you save an edited copy. This keeps only the version you actually intended to keep, which reduces clutter in your gallery and frees up storage without manual cleanup.

To manage this behavior, go to Tap on SettingsTap on Convenience toolsTap on ScreenshotEnable or disable Delete original image after editing. Turning the option on deletes the source file the moment your edit is saved.

Leave this option off if you often want to compare an edit against the original, or if you sometimes need to redo an edit from scratch. Once deleted, the original screenshot cannot be restored, so only enable auto-delete if you are confident you will not need the unedited version again.

Frequently asked questions

Both files stay in your gallery: the original screenshot and the edited copy. Nothing gets deleted automatically, so you keep full control but use more storage.
