Realme: Show or Hide the Home Screen Search Bar

If you cannot find a quick way to search apps, contacts, or the web straight from your home screen, the search bar at the bottom might be switched off. On some Realme phones it is the opposite problem: the bar shows up uninvited and eats into the space you would rather use for app icons. Either way, a single toggle in the home screen settings controls whether it appears.

Show or Hide the Search Bar on the Home Screen auf Realme

The search bar at the bottom of the home screen is part of the Home screen and Lock screen settings in Realme UI. It gives you a shortcut to app search, contact search, and web search without swiping down for the notification panel or opening a dedicated search app.

Whether the bar is visible depends on one toggle. If it is missing, the toggle is off. If it appears without being wanted, the toggle is on and blocking space that some users prefer for widgets or extra app icons.

To change it, go to Tap on SettingsTap on Home screen & Lock screenEnable or disable Search bar at screen bottom. Flipping the switch applies the change instantly, no restart needed.

This setting only affects the visual bar on the home screen. It does not remove app search itself, which stays available through the app drawer or notification panel search field. If you are looking to change what the search bar searches through, or to remove search results for specific apps, that is handled in a different menu, not this toggle.

There are no side effects from turning the bar on or off. It is purely a layout preference and does not affect performance, storage, or notifications.
