Enable or Disable Smart Sidebar auf Realme
Smart Sidebar is a Realme UI feature that adds a small swipe handle to the edge of the screen. Pulling it out opens a panel with shortcuts to screen recording, screenshots, app cloning, and a shortlist of apps you choose to keep within reach.
The handle stays visible in almost every app, including games and video players, which is why it sometimes gets mistaken for a system glitch or an accidental touch trigger. It runs independently of gesture navigation, so disabling gestures elsewhere does not remove it.
You control the feature from the convenience settings. Go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Convenience tools ➔ Tap on Smart Sidebar ➔ Enable or disable Smart Sidebar to switch it on or off.
Turning it off removes the edge handle completely and frees up that strip of screen for full-width swipes, which helps in games that use edge gestures for aiming or menus. Turning it on again restores your previously selected apps and shortcuts without needing to rebuild the list.
If you only find the handle distracting in specific apps rather than everywhere, check whether Smart Sidebar offers a per-app exclusion list on your software version before disabling it system-wide.
