Auto-download of Software Updates auf Realme
Realme UI keeps update downloads separate from update installation. The Auto download setting only controls whether a new software package gets fetched in the background and which network is allowed to do it.
Open Settings ➔ Software update ➔ Settings ➔ Auto download. From there you can choose Wi-Fi or mobile data, Wi-Fi, Mobile data or Do not allow.
Picking Wi-Fi keeps large update packages off your mobile plan and only fetches them once the phone connects to a known network. Choosing Wi-Fi or mobile data means an update can download the moment it is available, even on a cellular connection, which explains sudden data usage spikes some users notice after a software check.
Setting Do not allow stops any automatic fetching. The phone still notifies you about a pending update, but you have to start the download manually inside the same Software update screen.
This setting has no effect on already downloaded updates waiting to be installed. If you just want to avoid an unexpected reboot or installation prompt, look at the installation settings instead, not the download option.
