Realme: Switch Between Ringing, Vibrate and Silent Mode

On a Realme phone, the sound mode controls whether calls and notifications ring out loud, buzz quietly, or stay completely silent. Realme UI ties this setting to both the status bar quick toggle and a dedicated menu, so mismatches happen when one gets changed without the other.

If your phone rings during a meeting despite swiping the quick settings icon to Vibrate, the setting likely reverted or a specific app has its own notification channel overriding it. The same applies if Silent mode still lets certain alarms or system sounds through, since Silent usually mutes calls and notifications, not every audio source on the device.

To set the sound mode directly through the settings menu: Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Sound & vibration ➔ Tap on Sound mode ➔ Choose Ringing, Vibrate or Silent mode.

This path is useful when the quick settings toggle feels unreliable or when you want to confirm which mode is actually active. If you only need a fast switch during the day, the status bar shortcut still works for most cases, but the settings menu is the more consistent source of truth.

When to check app-level sound settings instead

If a single app keeps making noise regardless of the sound mode, that app may have its own notification sound override in the system notification settings. Changing the global sound mode will not fix that, since some apps request an exception for alarms or calls.
