Realme: Turn Auto-capitalization On or Off

Auto-capitalization is part of the Text correction settings inside Gboard, the keyboard built into Realme UI on Android. Whenever you finish a sentence with a period, question mark, or exclamation point, the keyboard assumes the next word starts a new sentence and capitalizes its first letter automatically.

This speeds up regular typing, but it causes problems when you enter lowercase-only content such as usernames, email addresses, code snippets, or search terms that should not start with a capital letter. The keyboard cannot tell the difference between a new sentence and this kind of input, so it treats everything the same way.

Where to find the setting

Open Settings ➔ Additional settings ➔ Keyboard & input method ➔ Gboard ➔ Text correction and look for the Auto-capitalization switch. Turn it off if you want to type without automatic capital letters, or leave it on if you rely on it for regular messages and notes.

If capitalization only misbehaves in one specific app, check that app's own input settings first, since some apps override the system keyboard behavior. Disabling Auto-capitalization system-wide will not fix an issue caused by an app-specific text field configuration.
