Realme: Turn Wi-Fi Auto-Reconnect On or Off

If your Realme phone keeps rejoining a Wi-Fi network you would rather avoid, or a saved network stops reconnecting and keeps asking for the password, the automatic reconnect setting for that specific network is behind it. This option applies per saved network, so one Wi-Fi entry can behave differently from another on the same phone.

Auto Reconnect to a Wi-Fi Network auf Realme

Realme UI keeps a list of saved Wi-Fi networks and reconnects to them automatically once your phone is back in range. This behavior is controlled by a per-network switch called Automatically reconnect, not by a single global toggle.

That is why one saved network can silently rejoin while another asks for the password every time. If the switch is off for a network, your phone drops that connection when you leave range and will not rejoin on its own later.

To check or change it, go to Tap on SettingsTap on Wi-Fi, select the network from the saved list, then Open the MenuEnable or disable Automatically reconnect.

Turning this off makes sense for networks you only use occasionally, such as a hotel or an office guest network, so your phone does not try to rejoin them by default. Turning it on is useful for your home or work network so you do not have to reconnect manually every time you walk back in range.

Disabling auto-reconnect does not remove the saved password or forget the network. It only stops the automatic join, so you can still select the network manually and connect with the stored credentials whenever you want.

Frequently asked questions

No. Disabling Automatically reconnect only stops the phone from joining that network on its own. The password stays saved, and you can still tap the network manually to connect.
