Turn On/Off Call Forwarding
If calls land straight in voicemail even though your phone shows full signal, or every incoming call suddenly rings on a different number, call forwarding is likely active in your carrier call settings. Realme groups four forwarding modes together: Always forward, When busy, When unanswered and When unreachable, and each one behaves differently depending on network conditions. On dual-SIM phones, these settings apply separately per SIM, so a rule enabled on one line won't affect the other.
Turn Call Waiting On or Off
If a second call slips through without any notification sound while you are already on a call, Call waiting is disabled on your Realme phone. Depending on your carrier, this feature is often active by default, but it can silently switch off after a system update or a SIM swap. Missed calls during an active call almost always trace back to this one setting.
Auto Answer Calls Setup
When a Bluetooth headset stays connected, your Realme phone can pick up incoming calls before you even reach for the screen. This happens because Auto answer accepts calls automatically after a set delay, and that delay can feel too short or too long for how you actually use your headset. If calls get answered while you are still walking to a quiet spot, the setting needs adjusting instead of switching off entirely.
Turn On/Off Auto-Switch to Receiver
If you switch a call to speaker on your Realme phone, you normally have to tap the speaker icon again before holding the phone back to your ear. With Auto-switch to receiver enabled, the proximity sensor detects when you lift the phone and moves the audio back to the earpiece by itself. If your Realme phone still connects to numbers you never approved, Fixed Dialing Numbers (FDN) is likely still switched off. Without that PIN2 on hand, the option in your calling settings stays greyed out.
Show or Hide Caller ID
Outgoing calls from your Realme phone sometimes show your number when you wanted privacy, or the other side sees 'Unknown caller' when you actually wanted to be reachable by name. Set SOS Message Content
An SOS message from a Realme phone only shares your current location by default, which leaves emergency contacts guessing about what is actually happening. If you want them to see or hear what is going on around you, the extra photo and audio options in the emergency settings stay switched off until you turn them on yourself.
Set Default Phone App
If you installed a second dialer app on your Realme phone, incoming calls or contacts might open in the wrong app. This happens because Realme UI still treats another app as the default handler for calls and messages. Until you change that assignment, missed-call notifications and quick-dial shortcuts can point to the wrong place.
Block Unknown Callers Automatically
When a call comes in without a visible number or caller ID, your Realme phone files it under 'Unknown' rather than treating it as spam or a saved contact. Turn On/Off Caller ID Announcement
If your Realme phone keeps reading out caller names or numbers even when you are not using a headset, or stays silent when you actually want that announcement while driving, the Caller ID announcement setting is likely set to the wrong option. This feature can read the saved contact name or the raw phone number aloud for every incoming call. Getting the option wrong means either constant interruptions or missing an announcement you actually need.
Add Emergency Contacts for Emergency SOS
If Emergency SOS on your Realme phone doesn't notify anyone when you trigger it, no emergency contacts have been saved yet. Without a stored contact, the automatic SOS message with your location and a short audio clip is never sent out. Realme UI only lists this option once Emergency SOS itself is switched on.
Phone and Calling Gestures
Gesture controls let you handle incoming calls and messages without touching the screen or navigating a menu. A single flip, lift, or cover of the phone can mute a ringtone, switch audio output, or silence a notification. Lift to Ear to Answer Calls: Enable or Disable
If your Realme phone picks up calls the moment you grab it out of your pocket, or lifting it to your ear never answers the call at all, the Lift to ear to answer calls gesture is probably misconfigured. This motion relies on the proximity and motion sensors, and thick cases or a bag can throw off the detection.
Turn On/Off Call Barring
If unwanted international calls keep coming through or you need to block outgoing calls on a shared or work SIM, call barring lets you restrict specific call types on your Realme phone. On Dual SIM devices the restriction only applies to the SIM you configure, not both cards at once. Getting the wrong option turned on can also block calls you actually need, such as roaming while traveling.
Turn On/Off VoLTE Calls
If your Realme phone still connects calls over the 2G or 3G network, call setup feels slower and voice quality suffers. VoLTE routes voice calls through the 4G network instead, but only works when it is switched on for the SIM card you are actually using. On dual-SIM devices each SIM has its own VoLTE toggle, which is why one line can sound noticeably better than the other.
Add Recovery Email for Privacy Password
Locked out of your private safe because you forgot the privacy password? Without a recovery email saved in advance, Realme UI has no way to verify your identity and the Forgot password option stays greyed out. Adding an email address now is the only way to unlock a reset later.
Change Default Messages App
If texts open in the wrong app or notifications never show up where expected, Realme UI is still pointing to an old default SMS app. Switching to a different messaging app changes design, notification handling and features like spam filtering or RCS chat. Apps downloaded from the Play Store need to be set manually before they take over as the default handler for SMS.
Auto Call for Emergency Services Number
If your Realme phone does not dial for help when you rapidly press the power button, the Auto call emergency services number option is probably switched off or missing a saved number. This setting controls whether Emergency SOS places a call on its own after the 3-second countdown, and it only works once a default number is stored.
