Show or Hide the Suggestion Strip in Gboard

If word suggestions keep popping up above the keyboard while you type, autocorrect and predictive text are getting in the way instead of helping. That strip can also feel cluttered if you prefer typing without interruptions. On Realme phones running Gboard, this behavior comes from a setting buried inside the keyboard app itself, not the system keyboard menu.

Manually Check for Software Updates

If your Realme phone hasn't shown an update notification in a while, the automatic background check may have skipped a cycle or your connection was unstable at the time. Waiting for the system to notify you isn't always reliable, especially right after a new firmware version rolls out. Triggering the check yourself confirms right away whether an update is actually waiting.

Allow or Deny Calls in Do Not Disturb

If Do Not Disturb mode blocks every incoming call, even from close contacts, the call exception setting is probably still set to No one. Realme UI lets you fine-tune this behavior instead of muting your phone completely during focus time.

Remove an Account

If you sign out of an account on your Realme phone but its messages, contacts, or files stay right where they were, you probably logged out instead of fully removing the account. Removing an account wipes its local copy of data from the phone, but leaves everything untouched in the cloud service itself. That distinction matters before you reset, sell, or hand over the device.

Show or Hide Lock Screen Notification Content

When someone can read your messages just by glancing at your locked phone, the lock screen notification setting is exposing too much content. Realme phones let you choose whether the sender and message text appear before you unlock, or whether only a generic alert shows up. Picking the wrong option means either missing important alerts at a glance or leaking private texts to anyone nearby.

Fix Audio Balance Between Left and Right Speaker/Earbud

If music, calls or videos sound louder on one side, a hearing difference or an earbud that sits slightly loose can turn normal stereo playback into an uneven mix. Realme UI includes a dedicated balance control that shifts output continuously between left and right, separate from the regular volume buttons. Without it, you are stuck compensating by tilting your head or favoring one earbud.

Turn On/Off Color Inversion

If your Realme screen suddenly shows a black background with white text where you expect white and black, Color inversion has been switched on somewhere in Accessibility. Photos, videos, and app icons look off too, since the whole display gets flipped, not just text and menus. Many people trigger this by accident while exploring accessibility options and then struggle to find the toggle again.

Add a New Account

If your email will not sync or WhatsApp keeps asking you to sign in again, the account might not be set up correctly at system level on your Realme phone. Realme UI lets you add several account types in one place, including Google, Exchange, IMAP or POP3 mail, plus social apps like Facebook or WhatsApp. Knowing where each account type belongs saves you from re-entering passwords every time an app restarts or a sync fails.

Turn Auto Brightness On or Off

If your Realme screen stays too dim in bright sunlight or too bright at night, the automatic brightness adjustment is probably switched off. Auto brightness relies on the light sensor to react to your surroundings, but a manual drag on the brightness slider often disables it without you noticing.

Turn On/Off Dual Clock

If you travel across time zones or keep in touch with family abroad, seeing only one clock on your lock screen makes planning calls harder. Realme phones can show a second clock for your usual residence next to the current location time, but this only works once dual clock is switched on and configured for the right screens.

Add Date & Time to Watermark

If your photos only carry the phone model watermark without any timestamp, the 'Date & time' option inside the watermark settings is still switched off. Realme UI treats the model tag and the time stamp as separate toggles, so enabling one does not automatically activate the other. Once switched on, every new photo or video shows the exact capture date and time underneath the device watermark.

Show/Hide Language Switch Key

Switching between two keyboard languages on Realme usually means opening the keyboard settings every time, which slows down typing. Gboard has a dedicated language switch key for this, but it sits hidden until you turn it on, and it cannot appear together with the emoji key. If you type in more than one language daily, this toggle decides how fast switching actually feels.

Check for Google Play System Update Manually

On many Realme phones, Google Play system updates install quietly in the background without any real notification. If an update failed to apply, or you had to reset the Google Play services app, the version shown on your device might be out of date. Checking manually tells you whether your phone actually has the latest patch installed.

Smart Lock: Trusted Places, Devices and On-Body Detection

Smart Lock keeps your Realme phone unlocked automatically once it recognizes a trusted place, a paired device, or that you are carrying it. It removes the repeated PIN or pattern entry when you are already in a familiar, low-risk situation. The feature sits on top of your regular screen lock and only relaxes it under conditions you choose yourself.

Home Screen Folder Management

Folders let you group several app icons into a single tile on the Realme home screen, cutting down on scrolling and keeping similar tools together. They matter most once you have more apps than screen space, and they support renaming, resizing, and rearranging without touching your app drawer. Understanding how they work makes it easier to keep a clean, fast home screen.

Limit Personal Hotspot Connections

When several devices join your Realme personal hotspot at the same time, mobile data disappears fast and the connection gets noticeably slower for everyone. Realme UI lets you cap the number of devices allowed to connect, so guests or family devices cannot eat into your data plan unnoticed. Without a limit, any nearby device with the password can join until you run out of data.

Delete Face Data

If Face Unlock keeps popping up even though you no longer want facial recognition active on your Realme phone, the scanned face model is still stored in the security settings. Removing it turns off Face Unlock completely and clears the saved biometric data, but the deletion has to be confirmed with your Pattern, PIN or Password. Without one of those backup unlock methods set up, the face data cannot be deleted at all.

Local Backups Explained (Storage & Backup)

Local backups save your apps, messages, and settings directly on your phone or an SD card, without touching the cloud. This matters when you want a fast safety net before a system update, a factory reset, or a device swap. Realme UI bundles this function inside Storage & Backup so you always know where your data actually lives.

Add New User

Letting a family member or your kids use your Realme phone means their apps, photos and settings mix with yours on one shared account. Realme UI lets you create a separate profile so each person gets their own home screen, their own installed apps and their own personal data, kept apart from the main administrator account.

Turn On/Off USB Debugging

When your PC does not recognize your Realme phone in ADB or Android Studio, USB debugging is usually still switched off. This option lives inside the hidden Developer options menu, which most Realme phones do not show by default. Without it enabled, tools like ADB, Scrcpy or Android Studio cannot talk to your device over USB.

Restart the Smartphone (System & Settings)

If your realme phone reacts slower than usual, opens apps with a delay, or the touchscreen feels laggy, a restart often solves it before you dig into settings. Background processes, cached data and pending updates pile up over time and slow down Realme UI. A restart clears all of that without touching your photos or installed apps.

Customize Smart Sidebar Shortcuts

If the Smart Sidebar on your Realme phone only shows a handful of default apps, or the icons feel randomly ordered, the shortcut list simply has not been adjusted yet. Realme UI lets you add, reorder or remove Quick accesses individually, and the sidebar scrolls, so there is no fixed limit on how many shortcuts you keep. Getting the layout right just means finding the edit mode most people never open.

Show or Hide Emojis in the Symbols Keyboard

If recent and favorite emojis stop showing up on the symbols keyboard after you switch away from letters, quick access to your most-used emojis breaks down mid-conversation. This behavior is controlled by a Gboard preference that only works when the suggestion strip above the keyboard is already turned on. Skip that requirement and the toggle stays inactive no matter how many times you flip it.

Add a Printer Manually by IP Address

When a printer does not show up automatically in the default print service on your Realme phone, the auto-discovery over Wi-Fi has failed to find it. This can happen with printers on a different network segment or with 'Default Print Service' still loading its device list. Adding the printer manually by IP address gets around that without waiting for auto-detection to finish.
