Change Default Apps
If tapping a link always opens the wrong browser, or a newly installed messaging app never launches automatically, a leftover default app assignment is still active. Samsung keeps separate default apps for actions like opening links, sending texts or making calls, and a fresh install does not take over automatically. Until you reassign it, the old app keeps handling those actions.
Show or Hide the App Drawer Button on the Home Screen
On Samsung phones the app list normally opens with a swipe up on the home screen, and many users miss the dedicated button from older models. This grouping option is easy to miss because it works through drag-and-drop instead of a settings menu.
Set Date and Time Automatically
If your Samsung phone shows the wrong time after a trip or a SIM swap, the automatic clock sync has likely been switched off. Apps that rely on accurate timestamps, like calendars, banking apps, or two-factor codes, can then throw errors or reject logins.
