Allow Calls in Do Not Disturb
When Do Not Disturb is active on your Samsung phone, every incoming call gets silenced by default, even from people saved in your contacts. This happens because the Calls, messages and conversations settings inside Do Not Disturb treat phone calls like any other notification unless you tell it otherwise. You can choose whether all calls, only contacts, only favorites, or none get through.
Restore Default App Icons

Show or Hide Secure Folder Notification Content
When an app inside Secure Folder sends a notification, Samsung hides the actual content by default, both on the lock screen and in the notification panel. This behavior comes from a separate privacy setting inside Secure Folder, independent of your normal notification content settings.
Turn Notifications On or Off for Individual Apps
If one app keeps buzzing your phone with alerts you no longer want, you don't have to mute your whole device to fix it. Samsung lets you manage notification permissions per app, so you can silence a chatty game or a busy WhatsApp group chat while alerts from your other apps keep working. Some apps even split their notifications into categories, letting you block group messages while direct messages still come through.
Turn Subtitles On or Off
If captions stay off during video playback or look different from app to app, you are probably dealing with two separate subtitle systems on your Samsung phone. Samsung subtitles and Google subtitles (CC) both add captions but sit in different menus and offer different styling options. Knowing which one is active decides whether size, color and background of the text can even be changed.
Reset Camera Settings
If your Samsung camera keeps producing odd results after tweaking resolution, filters, grid lines or shooting modes, restoring the default configuration usually clears the mess fastest. The same setting also controls how many seconds pass before the call picks up on its own.
Export Contacts as vCard
Switching to a new phone or backing up your contact list only works if you can get every saved entry out of the Contacts app in one file. Without exporting first, you are left copying numbers one by one. Samsung phones can bundle everything into a single vCard file that other devices, apps and services can read.
Turn Custom Watermark On or Off
Photos taken with your Samsung camera carry no signature or text, even though a custom watermark would help identify your shots. The built-in watermark stamps text into the lower left corner of every photo, but its position is fixed and the small camera icon next to it can't be removed. That limits how much you can customize the look before it gets applied.
Block or Unblock a Contact
If one saved contact keeps calling or texting after you have asked them to stop, blocking is the only way to silence both channels at once. The tricky part is that a blocked contact stays visible in your contact list and cannot be hidden, which surprises many users. Turn Off Camera Shutter Sound
Every photo you snap on a Samsung phone triggers a loud shutter click, even when the ringer is off. Change Call Vibration Pattern
If every incoming call feels like the same long buzz, your Samsung phone is still set to the standard call vibration. Picking a different pattern helps you tell calls apart from notifications by feel alone, without looking at the screen.
Turn Screen Rotation On or Off
If your Samsung screen stays locked in portrait mode even when you turn the device sideways, the Auto rotate function is switched off. The opposite problem also happens: the display keeps flipping between portrait and landscape when you just want it to stay put. Both behaviors come down to a single quick setting that controls whether the screen follows the physical orientation of the phone.
Remove Biometric Data
If your Samsung phone still unlocks with an old fingerprint or a face scan that no longer feels safe, that biometric data is still sitting behind your Screen lock type setting. Switching the lock method clears every stored fingerprint and face profile at once, but it also drops your PIN, password or pattern until you set a new one. Apps that rely on Samsung Pass or biometric login will ask for a fallback method right after.
Turn On/Off Color Correction
If reds and greens blend together on your Samsung screen, or blue tones look washed out, reading charts, icons and notifications gets harder. Samsung includes filters for different types of color blindness, but they only help once enabled and matched to the right type.
Turn On/Off Faster Face Recognition
If your Samsung phone unlocks even when someone holds up a photo or video of your face, the Faster recognition option is likely turned on. This setting speeds up face unlock but skips some of the depth checks that normally block spoofing attempts. Turning it off makes recognition a touch slower but much harder to trick.
Share Internet via Bluetooth Tethering
If a paired Bluetooth device cannot get online through your Samsung phone, Bluetooth tethering is likely still switched off. Switch to Mobile Data Automatically
When your Wi-Fi signal turns weak or drops out, apps can freeze or fail to load even though the Wi-Fi icon still shows full bars. Samsung phones include a 'Switch to mobile data' option that hands the connection over to your cellular network once Wi-Fi quality drops too low. Without it enabled, your phone keeps trying to use a bad Wi-Fi signal instead of switching over on its own.
