When a chat bubble or floating icon from an app like Facebook Messenger keeps covering your screen no matter what you open, that app has permission to draw over other apps. Some tools need this to work, like screen recorders or floating widgets, but many apps request it without a clear reason. If the overlay gets in the way or feels like a privacy risk, you can turn it off per app.
Remove a Folder from the Home Screen
A folder full of apps keeps taking up space on your home screen even after you have moved the apps out of it. On Samsung phones, folders behave like ordinary app icons, which confuses users looking for a delete option in a settings menu.
Auto-Lock Secure Folder Settings
By default, Secure Folder on Samsung phones only locks once the screen turns off, which leaves your private apps and files exposed for longer than expected if someone grabs the phone while it's still active. If your Samsung phone keeps trying to reconnect to a Wi-Fi network you no longer use, an old saved profile is still stored on the device. This forces constant background scanning for that network and can slow down how quickly your phone switches to a stronger signal nearby. Removing the outdated entry stops the automatic search for good.

Samsung Internet opens with Quick access by default, a screen full of shortcuts to sites like Google, eBay or Tchibo instead of the page you actually want to see. You can switch to a personalized start view, the most-visited sites list, or a fixed web address of your choice. The option sits inside the browser menu and is easy to overlook the first time you look for it.
Turn Off Screen Lock
Every time you wake your Samsung phone, you have to swipe past a PIN, pattern or password prompt before you reach the home screen. The Camera app has a built-in self-timer that adds a countdown before the shot fires, so you can put the phone down and get into position first. On Samsung devices you can choose a delay of 2, 5, or 10 seconds depending on how much time you need.
Customize Secure Folder Name and Icon
If your Secure Folder still carries its default label and icon, anyone glancing at your app list can spot exactly what it hides. Samsung lets you rename it and swap the icon for something less obvious, but the icon options are limited to presets and the initial letter of your chosen name. You cannot upload a custom image as the icon.
Reset Advertising ID
If ads in apps still feel oddly personalized even though you never searched for those products, your Samsung Advertising ID is likely the cause. This identifier lets ad networks, including Google, connect your app activity into a profile used for targeted ads. Getting a fresh ID breaks that connection without touching your account or app data.
