Jumping from a landscape shot to a quick selfie shouldn't mean closing the Camera app and reopening it. On Samsung phones the front and rear lenses share one interface, but the small switch icon is easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Knowing exactly where it sits saves you from fumbling mid-shot in both photo and video mode.
Set Apps to Always Use Mobile Data
If a messaging or banking app keeps burning through your mobile data plan while your phone shows a strong WLAN signal, Samsung's data usage settings are usually the reason. One UI lets you pin specific apps to mobile data only, and once that switch is on, the app ignores WLAN completely, even when the connection is fast and free. This setting is easy to flip by accident and easy to forget once it stays active.
Set Up a Proxy Server for Wi-Fi
If your workplace or school network requires all traffic to pass through a specific server, a normal Wi-Fi connection on your Samsung phone will not get you online. Without the correct proxy host and port entered in the Wi-Fi settings, apps and browsers simply time out or show a connection error. Enable or Disable Contacts Recycle Bin
On Samsung phones, deleted contacts don't vanish right away. They sit in a hidden recycle bin for 15 days before being erased for good, which can be confusing if you expect a contact to disappear instantly. Some people prefer to skip this safety net entirely and want deletions to be final immediately.
Turn Off the Screenshot Sound
Every screenshot on your Samsung phone triggers a shutter sound, even in quiet places like meetings or classrooms. Samsung has no dedicated switch for this specific sound, so many users search the settings for a toggle that simply does not exist. The only reliable fix is muting the system sound channel that the screenshot sound belongs to.

Enable Suspicious Network Detection for Wi-Fi
Connecting to a public Wi-Fi hotspot at a cafe or airport can quietly redirect your traffic through a rogue captive portal without any warning on screen. Samsung devices include a background check that flags this kind of suspicious network behavior, but the toggle for it is easy to miss and sometimes gets switched off during a reset. If the feature is disabled, your phone stays silent even when a network tries to intercept requests.
Switch Navigation Bar Between Buttons and Gestures
If your Samsung phone shows three buttons at the bottom instead of a slim gesture bar - or the other way round - you can switch the layout yourself. Share Internet via Bluetooth Tethering
If a paired Bluetooth device cannot get online through your Samsung phone, Bluetooth tethering is likely still switched off. Pairing alone does not grant internet access - you need to enable that separately for the connected device. Without it enabled, your phone keeps trying to use a bad Wi-Fi signal instead of switching over on its own.
Share Wi-Fi Password via QR Code
Typing out a long Wi-Fi password for guests or family members gets old fast, especially with mixed-case letters and symbols. Samsung phones store the network credentials internally, so you can turn that saved password into a scannable QR code instead of reading it out loud. Anyone with a QR code scanner just points their camera at the screen and connects automatically.
