Add a New Contact auf Samsung
Numbers dialed or received are only kept in the call log by default. They are not searchable later and get removed once you clear the log or switch devices. Saving a number as a proper contact keeps it available across restarts, backups, and syncing with your Google or Samsung account.
Menu path to add a contact
Open the Contacts app and follow these steps:
Tap on Contacts ➔ Tap on Add ➔ Enter a Name ➔ Enter a Phone number ➔ Add more Details or tap on Save
The name and phone number fields are the only required entries. Everything else, such as email address, workplace, birthday, relationship, website, or a memo, is optional and can be filled in later by opening the contact again and tapping the edit icon.
The birthday field is linked to the Samsung calendar app, so any date you enter here shows up automatically as a yearly reminder. If you add a work address or website, those fields become tappable links inside the contact card for quick access.
If a number already exists in your call log, you can save it directly from there instead of typing it manually, which avoids typos in the phone number field.
