Add an App to Do Not Disturb Exceptions auf Samsung
Do Not Disturb on Samsung phones blocks all notification sounds and banners by default, no matter which app sends them. This protects focus time, but it also silences apps you might need to hear from immediately, like a messenger or a work tool.
Samsung lets you exclude specific apps from this restriction. Once an app is added as an exception, its notifications behave as if Do Not Disturb were off, while every other app stays muted.
Where to find the setting
Go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Notifications ➔ Tap on Do not disturb ➔ Tap on Apps ➔ Tap on Add apps. Select the app you want to exempt, then confirm with Turn On All notifications.
After this, the app ignores Do Not Disturb completely and delivers sounds, vibrations, and banners as usual. This works per app, so you decide individually which ones bypass the mode and which stay silenced.
If you only want certain contacts to break through instead of a whole app, check the separate contact exceptions in the same Do Not Disturb menu. That option is better suited when you need calls from one person only, not every notification from an app.
