Samsung: Add a Bookmark Shortcut to the Home Screen

If you open the same website every day, digging through saved bookmarks in Samsung Internet gets old fast. Pinning that page to your home screen turns it into a tappable icon, right next to your apps, that you can move or drop into a folder like any other shortcut.

Add Bookmark Shortcut to Home Screen auf Samsung

Bookmarks in Samsung Internet stay inside the browser. That means every visit still starts with opening the app, tapping the bookmark list, and scrolling to find the right entry.

A home screen shortcut skips that detour. It places a direct link to the page on your home screen, and tapping it opens the site straight in the browser, without any extra menu.

To create one, open Internet and load the page you want to pin. Then open the Menu, tap Add page to, choose Home screen, and confirm with Add.

The icon that appears usually pulls from the site's favicon. Some pages do not provide one, so the shortcut falls back to a generic globe icon or a text snippet instead.

Once placed, the shortcut behaves like any app icon. You can drag it into a folder, move it between home screens, or remove it by long-pressing and selecting the remove option.

If you visit dozens of pages and just need quick access without cluttering the home screen, a regular bookmark inside Samsung Internet is still the better fit. Use a home screen shortcut for the one or two sites you open constantly, like a webmail login or a frequently checked dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The shortcut only stores the link, not a snapshot of the page. Tapping it always loads the current version of the site through Internet.
