Assign a Custom Ringtone to a Contact auf Samsung
If every incoming call sounds the same, you often miss important contacts hidden among general notifications. Samsung lets you attach a distinct ringtone to a single entry in Contacts, so you recognize the caller before checking the screen.
The setting lives inside the contact card itself, not in the general Sound settings. Samsung ties the custom tone directly to that contact, so it plays regardless of which screen is active when the call comes in.
Setting a custom ringtone
Open Tap on Contacts ➤ Choose a Contact ➤ Tap on Edit ➤ Tap on View more ➤ Tap on Ringtone ➤ Select a Ringtone ➤ Tap on Back ➤ Tap on Save.
You can pick from the built-in ringtone list or add an audio file already stored on the device. The vibration pattern for the same contact sits right next to the ringtone option, so sound and vibration can be set independently per person.
A custom ringtone only plays when the call comes through the standard Phone app. If a separate calling app handles that contact, it uses its own notification sound instead. Switching the phone to silent or Do Not Disturb still mutes the custom tone, since system-wide sound modes always take priority over individual contact settings.
