Back Up Data to Samsung Cloud auf Samsung
A local backup sits on the same storage as your apps and photos. If the phone is lost, stolen or the storage fails, that backup disappears along with everything else. Samsung Cloud solves this by copying your data to your Samsung account instead of the device.
Where the setting lives
Open Settings ➔ Accounts and backup ➔ Back up data. Here you choose which content to include, such as contacts, calendar, photos or app data, then confirm with Back up.
Why this matters
Samsung Cloud runs independently of the phone's internal storage. Even a full factory reset or a broken screen does not affect data already synced to the cloud, as long as the backup completed before the incident.
When another option fits better
Large media libraries can eat into your free Samsung Cloud quota fast. If you mainly need to move files between two Samsung devices, Smart Switch or a local backup on a PC can be faster and avoids storage limits entirely.
Backups also require an active Wi-Fi or mobile data connection and enough free cloud storage, otherwise the process stops before it finishes.
