Block or Unblock a Contact auf Samsung
Blocking a contact on a Samsung phone stops both calls and messages from that person, but it does not remove them from your contact list. The entry stays visible with a small block indicator, and there is no built-in way to hide it. This confuses people who expect blocked contacts to disappear entirely.
The block function sits in the contact details screen, not in a separate security menu. Go to Tap on Contacts ➔ Choose a Contact ➔ Tap on More ➔ Tap on Block contact ➔ Tap on Block. Once confirmed, the person can still leave voicemail on some carriers, but calls never ring through and texts never trigger a notification.
If the number is not saved as a contact, you can block it directly from the call log or message thread instead of adding it first. That approach uses the same underlying block list, so unblocking works the same way in both cases: reopen the contact or number, tap the same menu, and remove the block.
Blocking is the right tool when you want silence from a specific person permanently. If you only want to mute notifications temporarily, a Do Not Disturb schedule or per-app notification setting is usually a better fit, since it does not affect that person's ability to reach you in an emergency.
