Turn Bluetooth Tethering On or Off auf Samsung
Bluetooth tethering lets your Samsung phone act as a small hotspot for devices connected over Bluetooth instead of Wi-Fi. Any laptop, tablet, or smartwatch paired to your phone can use its mobile data connection once the feature is switched on.
The setting sits inside the network and connectivity menu, next to Wi-Fi hotspot and USB tethering. It only shares a mobile data connection, not a Wi-Fi network the phone itself is connected to.
To turn Bluetooth tethering on or off:
Settings ➔ Connections ➔ Mobile Hotspot and Tethering ➔ toggle Bluetooth tethering
Once active, every device already paired over Bluetooth gets internet access right away, without the password prompt that Wi-Fi hotspot uses. That is convenient, but it also means a paired device can reconnect and start using your data plan on its own, so leave the toggle on only while you actually need it.
If you need faster speeds or want to share a connection with several devices at once, Wi-Fi hotspot is the better option, since Bluetooth tethering runs at a much lower transfer rate. Bluetooth tethering fits light tasks best, like checking email or syncing small amounts of data on a smartwatch or laptop.
