Delete a Contact Group auf Samsung
Once a contact group has served its purpose, it stays visible inside the Contacts app until you remove it manually. Samsung One UI treats groups as a separate layer on top of your contact list, so deleting a group does not automatically touch the contacts inside it.
Open Contacts ➔ Menu ➔ pick the group you want to remove ➔ open the Menu again ➔ tap Delete. At this point the system asks whether to remove Group only or Group and members. Choosing Group only deletes the label but keeps every stored contact on your phone. Choosing Group and members permanently removes the group plus every contact assigned to it, including entries synced to your Samsung account or Google account.
This distinction matters if you share contacts across multiple groups. A contact that belongs to two groups gets removed entirely if you pick Group and members, even if you only meant to clean up one of the groups it sits in.
The Emergency contacts group cannot be deleted this way, since it is a protected system group tied to emergency features on your phone.
If you only want to reorganize contacts instead of deleting them, moving members to a different group is the safer option and avoids losing stored numbers by accident.
