Enable or Disable Google Voice Typing auf Samsung
Google voice typing is a dictation function built into the Samsung keyboard. When it is active, a microphone icon shows up next to the space bar, and tapping it starts speech-to-text input instead of manual typing.
If that icon disappears, voice typing has usually been disabled in the keyboard management settings, not removed from the device. The same menu also lets you switch it back on when needed.
To change the setting, go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on General management ➔ Tap on Keyboard list and default ➔ Enable or disable Google voice typing. This toggle controls whether the microphone option appears on the Samsung keyboard, independent of which keyboard app is set as default.
Disabling voice typing can help if the microphone icon keeps triggering by accident, if you prefer typing manually, or if you want to limit which apps have quick access to speech recognition. Enabling it is useful for dictating messages, notes, or search queries without typing.
Voice typing needs an active internet connection for accurate recognition in most languages, and it relies on the microphone permission granted to the keyboard app. If dictation still fails after enabling the feature, check the microphone permission for the keyboard under app permissions.
