Samsung: Hide Apps from the Home Screen

If an app icon keeps cluttering your Samsung home screen even though you barely use it, uninstalling feels too drastic, especially for preinstalled apps you might need later. One UI has a built-in Hide apps option that removes the icon from the home and apps screens without deleting anything. The app stays installed, keeps running in the background, and is still listed in your full app settings.

Hide Apps from the Home Screen auf Samsung

Samsung's home screen layout gets crowded fast, especially with preinstalled apps you cannot remove. One UI offers a dedicated Hide apps function that pulls an icon off the home screen and the apps screen without touching the actual installation.

The hidden app keeps running normally in the background. It still receives notifications, still counts toward storage, and still shows up when you search through your full app list in settings. Hiding only changes what you see on the launcher, not what is installed on the device.

To hide one or more apps, open SettingsHome screenHide apps. Select every app you want to remove from view, then confirm with Done. The icons disappear immediately from both the home screen and the apps screen.

To bring an app back, repeat the same path and simply deselect it in the Hide apps list, then tap Done again.

If your goal is to actually stop an app from running, sending notifications, or using data, hiding is the wrong tool. Use SettingsApps, select the app, and use Disable or Uninstall instead. Hiding only affects visibility on the launcher screens.
