Keep Symbol Panel Open: Turn On or Off auf Samsung
The character preview that pops up over a key while typing comes from a Samsung Keyboard feature called Keep symbol panel open. It enlarges the letter or symbol you just tapped so you can confirm what was entered before the panel closes again.
On some devices this popup stays visible longer than expected, which can slow down fast typing or cover the next key you want to hit. Turning the option off removes the enlarged preview and lets the keyboard react immediately without holding the symbol view open.
The setting lives inside the keyboard's own touch behavior menu, separate from general keyboard layout or autocorrect settings:
Settings ➔ General management ➔ Samsung Keyboard settings ➔ Swipe, touch, and feedback ➔ Keep symbol panel open
Toggle it off if the popup feels distracting, or leave it on if you rely on the visual confirmation, for example when typing in low light or on a small screen. Disabling it does not affect autocorrect, keyboard sounds, or vibration feedback, since those are controlled by separate options in the same touch and feedback menu.
