Keyboard Touch and Hold Delay auf Samsung
The Samsung keyboard shows alternate characters, such as accents, symbols or numbers, through a small pop-up. That pop-up only opens if you press and hold a key, and by default the keyboard waits roughly 0.3 seconds before triggering it.
If that timing does not match your typing rhythm, two opposite problems can show up. Typing fast with slightly longer key presses can accidentally open the pop-up, interrupting normal words. Typing carefully and expecting a quick pop-up can feel sluggish if the delay is set too long for your habit.
This behavior is controlled inside the keyboard app itself, not in the general system settings, so changing it only affects input through the Samsung Keyboard.
To adjust the delay: Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on General management ➔ Tap on Samsung Keyboard settings ➔ Tap on Swipe, touch, and feedback ➔ Tap on Keyboard touch and hold delay ➔ Choose Short, Medium, Long or Custom.
Short shortens the required hold time, so the character pop-up appears almost immediately after pressing a key. Medium and Long extend that time, which helps if you often rest your finger briefly on a key while typing regular text. Custom lets you set a value that does not fit the three presets.
If you use a third-party keyboard app instead of the Samsung Keyboard, this setting has no effect, since each keyboard app manages its own touch and hold timing separately.
