Mark All Messages as Read auf Samsung
Unread badges build up in the Messages app when several conversations receive new texts around the same time, especially after your phone has been offline or on Do Not Disturb.
Opening every single thread just to dismiss the notification counter wastes time when dozens of chats sit unread. Samsung One UI includes a shortcut inside the Messages app that clears every unread marker in one step, without opening each conversation.
How to mark all messages as read
Open the Messages app on your Samsung phone. Tap on Messages to load your conversation list, then open the menu icon in the corner of the screen.
Follow this path: Tap on Messages ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Mark all as read.
Every unread badge disappears immediately across all conversations, and the app icon badge on your home screen updates right away too.
This action only changes the read status stored locally on your device. It does not delete any messages, archive conversations, or notify senders that you have read their texts.
If a new message arrives right after you mark everything as read, that specific conversation shows as unread again until you open it or repeat the steps.
