Turn NFC On or Off auf Samsung
NFC (Near Field Communication) lets your Samsung phone exchange small amounts of data with another NFC chip close by - a payment terminal, a tag, or another phone. The radio only reacts within a few centimeters, so it does not run in the background the way Wi-Fi or Bluetooth does.
On Samsung devices, the NFC toggle sits inside the connectivity settings next to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Open Settings ➔ Connections ➔ Enable or disable NFC and contactless payments. Switching it on activates the chip; switching it off blocks mobile payment apps, tap-to-share transfers, and any app that reads or writes NFC tags.
Turn NFC off if you never use contactless payments, want to stop apps from scanning tags automatically, or need to rule it out as the reason a payment app fails without an error. Turn it back on before opening a mobile wallet, tapping a transit reader, or sharing a file with tap and go.
If NFC is already on but payments still fail, check that the payment app is set as the default NFC service and that the screen is unlocked while you tap the terminal - most readers ignore a locked device. Restarting the phone after toggling NFC also clears a connection that got stuck to a reader.
