Enable or Disable App Icon Notification Badges auf Samsung
App icon badges are the small numbers or dots that appear on top of app icons on your Samsung home screen. They count unread notifications for each app and update automatically whenever a new alert arrives.
This behavior is controlled by a single system-wide toggle in the home screen settings, not by each app individually. Turning it off removes badges from every app icon at once, including messaging, mail, and social apps.
To change it, open Settings ➔ Home screen and enable or disable App icon badges. The change applies immediately without restarting the phone or the home screen.
Switching this off only hides the visual counter. Notifications themselves still arrive in the notification panel and on the lock screen, so you will not miss anything important. If you only want to quiet specific apps rather than remove badges everywhere, adjusting notification permissions for that app is usually the better fix, since it stops the notification at the source instead of just hiding the badge.
Some apps calculate their own badge count based on unread items rather than raw notifications. In those cases the badge may not disappear instantly after you open the app, even with this setting enabled.
