Turn On/Off Palm Swipe to Capture auf Samsung
Palm swipe to capture is a motion gesture on Samsung phones. Swiping the side of your hand across the display from one edge to the other takes a screenshot, no button combination needed.
This gesture lives inside the motion and gesture settings, separate from the standard hardware key shortcut. If it feels unresponsive, check first whether it is switched on at all, since some devices ship with it disabled.
Where to find the setting
Open the path below to check or change the current state:
Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Advanced features ➔ Tap on Motions and gestures ➔ Enable or disable Palm swipe to capture
Toggle the switch on to activate the gesture, or off if it keeps firing by accident while you hold or wipe the phone. The setting takes effect immediately, no restart required.
If screenshots still do not save after enabling the toggle, check your available storage first. Full storage can silently block the capture, even with the gesture correctly turned on.
Accidental triggers usually come from resting the side of your hand on the screen while typing or holding the phone one-handed. Turning the gesture off removes that risk without affecting the hardware key screenshot shortcut.
