Record a Video with the Camera App auf Samsung
The Samsung Camera app opens in photo mode by default, so pressing the shutter only takes a still image. To record a video you have to switch modes first, since photo and video capture use different settings and output resolutions.
Open Camera and move through the mode bar until Select Video mode is active. The viewfinder shrinks slightly once you switch - this happens because video is captured at a lower resolution than photos, not because of a display issue.
Tap the Camera shutter to start recording. A timer and a pause icon appear on the screen while the clip is running. If you need to skip an unwanted moment, tap Pause and tap the same button again to resume from where you left off.
Tap Stop to end the recording. The clip is saved automatically to your gallery, in whatever video format is set in your camera options.
If you only need a short clip without leaving photo mode entirely, check whether your model lets you hold the shutter button briefly instead - some Samsung phones support this as a shortcut so you don't have to switch modes for quick clips.
