Enable or Disable Contacts Recycle Bin auf Samsung
Samsung keeps a hidden safety net for your address book. When you delete a contact on a Samsung phone, it does not disappear immediately. Instead, it moves into a recycle bin inside the Contacts app, where it stays for 15 days before being permanently removed.
This behavior comes from Samsung's own contact management layer rather than from Android itself. It protects you against accidental deletions, since you can restore a contact within the 15-day window. Once that period ends, the entry is wiped from the device without any further warning.
Some people prefer their address book to work the classic way, where deleted means deleted right away. If that sounds like you, switch the recycle bin off from inside the Contacts app.
Open Contacts ➔ tap Menu ➔ open Settings ➔ find Enable or disable Recycle bin and toggle it. Turning it off deletes contacts instantly and stops them from passing through that intermediate storage.
Keep in mind that disabling the recycle bin removes the 15-day recovery window as well. If you delete a contact by mistake afterward, there is no built-in way to bring it back through this feature.
