Samsung: Delete Fingerprint and Face Unlock Data

Fingerprints and face data on Samsung phones are stored locally and tied to the Screen lock type you picked during setup. They stay on the device even after you register a new fingerprint or swap your main lock method, unless you clear them directly.

The fastest way to wipe all biometric profiles at once is to change the lock type itself. Open Settings ➔ Lock screen ➔ Screen lock type, confirm with your current PIN, password or pattern, then tap None and confirm again with Remove data. This deletes every stored fingerprint and face scan in one action.

Choosing None also removes any screen lock protection, so the phone unlocks without a code until you set a new one. If you only want to remove a single fingerprint entry instead of all biometric data, use the fingerprint management list inside Screen lock type rather than switching the lock type to None.

Apps using Samsung Pass, banking logins or split screen biometric checks will fall back to their own PIN or password prompt right after the data is cleared. Set a new lock method immediately afterward to avoid leaving the device unprotected.
