Remove a Widget from the Home Screen auf Samsung
Widgets on a Samsung home screen work like shortcuts, not like installed apps. Removing one only frees up the screen space it occupied, the app itself stays fully installed in your app drawer.
Samsung handles this through the home screen editing mode built into One UI. A long-press on any widget opens a small context menu with resize handles and a remove option, so you never need to open Settings for this.
To remove a widget: Tap and hold a Widget ➔ Tap on Remove. The widget disappears immediately, and the empty space can be filled with a different widget, an app icon, or left blank.
This works the same way on phones and tablets running One UI, since widget handling belongs to the home screen launcher rather than to a specific model.
If a widget keeps reappearing after you remove it, check whether a copy exists on a different home screen panel, or whether a setup routine placed it again automatically. Removing a widget never touches the notifications, data, or settings of the app behind it.
Use this action whenever you want a cleaner layout but still plan to use the app. Uninstall the app instead if you no longer need it at all.
