Samsung: Allow Repeat Callers in Do Not Disturb

When Do Not Disturb is on, your Samsung phone silences every incoming call, even from someone trying to reach you urgently. The Repeat callers exception is meant to let a second call from the same number through within 15 minutes, but many users find it either missing or not working as expected. Knowing where this setting lives helps you decide when silence is too strict.

Allow Repeat Callers in Do Not Disturb auf Samsung

Do Not Disturb on Samsung phones silences calls, messages and notifications by default. This is useful during meetings or at night, but it also blocks urgent calls from someone trying to reach you twice in a row.

The Repeat callers exception solves exactly that case. If the same number calls again within 15 minutes, the second call rings through with sound, even while Do Not Disturb is active. The first call still stays silent.

You control this behavior under Tap on SettingsTap on NotificationsTap on Do not disturbTap on Calls, messages and conversationsEnable or disable Repeat callers. Turning it on lets urgent double calls through. Turning it off keeps every call muted regardless of how many times someone tries.

When to disable it

Disable Repeat callers if you get frequent automated or spam calls that redial within minutes, since those can also trigger the exception and break through your silence. In that case, rely on starred contacts or scheduled Do Not Disturb exceptions instead.

This setting only affects calls. Messages and conversations have their own exception toggles in the same menu.

Frequently asked questions

No. Repeat callers only applies to phone calls. Messages and conversations have separate toggles in the same Calls, messages and conversations menu.
