Change Screenshot File Format auf Samsung
Samsung phones running One UI save screenshots as JPG files by default. JPG uses lossy compression, which shrinks file size but can blur small text, icons, or fine gradients in a screenshot.
PNG works differently. It stores every pixel without discarding image data, so text and interface elements stay crisp. The trade-off is a larger file size, which matters if you take screenshots frequently and have limited storage.
You control this setting through the screenshot tools built into One UI, not through a camera or gallery app. Changing it once applies to every screenshot going forward, without affecting images you already saved.
How to switch the format
Open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Advanced features ➔ Tap on Screenshots and screen recorder ➔ Tap on Screenshot format ➔ Choose JPGor PNG.
Select PNG if you want lossless quality, or keep JPG if you prefer smaller files. The change takes effect immediately for new screenshots.
If storage space is tight, JPG remains the better default. For screenshots you plan to zoom into, print, or edit later, PNG preserves more detail.
