Share Multiple Contacts as One File or Individually auf Samsung
Sharing multiple contacts from a Samsung phone normally bundles them into one combined vCard file. This is convenient for a single transfer, but some messaging apps, email clients, or older devices struggle to split a merged file back into separate contact entries. The result is a partial import, a corrupted entry, or no import at all.
Samsung lets you switch this behavior in the Contacts app settings, so contacts are sent one by one instead of bundled together. Each contact then arrives as its own file, which the receiving app can import individually without depending on how well it parses combined files.
Where to change the sharing method
Open the Contacts app, then tap the menu icon and go to Settings. Tap on Share multiple contacts and choose between As one file and Individually.
This setting applies the next time you select multiple contacts and tap share, regardless of which app you send them through afterward.
When to keep the combined file
If you only ever transfer contacts to another Samsung phone or a desktop contact manager that handles multi-entry vCards well, the default combined file still works fine and keeps the share action to a single tap and one attachment.
The main trade-off with individual sharing is that you get one attachment per contact, which can clutter a chat or email with many separate files when transferring large groups.
