Stay on Lock Screen Until Swipe Setting auf Samsung
Face recognition on Samsung phones works in two stages. First the camera confirms your identity, then the phone still waits for a swipe before showing the home screen. This extra step exists on purpose: it stops the phone from unlocking automatically the moment your face is detected, for example while it sits on a table facing you.
The setting responsible for this is called Stay on Lock screen until swipe, found inside the Face recognition menu. Turning it off removes the swipe requirement, so the phone jumps straight to the home screen once your face is confirmed. Turning it on keeps the extra confirmation step active.
To change it, open Settings ➔ Biometrics and security ➔ Face recognition. Enter your current pattern, PIN, or password when asked. Inside the Face recognition menu, enable or disable Stay on Lock screen until swipe depending on what you want.
If you disable the setting, unlocking becomes faster but also easier to trigger by accident, since no manual gesture is needed anymore. If your phone often unlocks unintentionally in your pocket or bag, keeping the swipe step active adds a small but useful safety buffer.
