Turn Swipe Typing On or Off on the Keyboard auf Samsung
Swipe typing lets you drag one finger from letter to letter instead of tapping each key separately. Samsung builds this into its own keyboard under the name keyboard swipe controls, even though the underlying gesture is the same one other Android phones call glide typing.
When the setting is turned off, dragging across the keys produces nothing or triggers stray letters, because the keyboard only registers individual taps. When it is switched on but set to the wrong mode, words can come out garbled if your finger moves too fast between distant letters or if autocorrect misreads the gesture.
The option sits inside the Samsung Keyboard settings, separate from the general system input settings. To reach it:
Settings ➔ General management ➔ Samsung Keyboard settings ➔ Swipe, touch, and feedback ➔ Keyboard swipe controls ➔ choose No swipe gestures or Swipe to type
Picking No swipe gestures disables the feature completely and forces tap-only typing, which helps if the keyboard keeps misreading gestures as accidental key presses. Picking Swipe to type turns gesture typing back on.
If words still come out wrong after switching to Swipe to type, the issue is usually autocorrect guessing the wrong word rather than the gesture setting itself.
