Camera Timer: Set Self-Timer for Photos and Videos auf Samsung
Camera shake and rushed poses are the main reason self-timer shots look off. When you tap the shutter with your own hand, the camera locks focus and exposure at that exact moment, often before you are ready or steady.
The Camera app's built-in Timer function fixes this by adding a countdown before the shutter fires. It works for both photos and video clips, letting you set the device down, step into frame, and let the countdown finish the shot without any hand movement.
Where to find the timer
Open Tap on Camera ➔ Tap on Timer ➔ Set the Timer and pick a delay of 2, 5, or 10 seconds. The icon in the viewfinder changes to reflect your choice, so you always know before you shoot whether the timer is armed.
Longer delays like 10 seconds work best for group shots or when the phone is propped further away. Shorter delays are enough for quick self-portraits at arm's length or on a nearby surface.
The timer setting can reset to off after you close the Camera app, so check the icon each time you reopen it for a self-timed shot. If you need repeated hands-free shots, a case stand or tripod paired with the 10-second delay gives the most stable results.
