Turn Off Wi-Fi Direct auf Samsung
Wi-Fi Direct lets your Samsung phone create peer-to-peer connections with other devices without a router, which is why the system does not offer a single toggle to shut it down completely.
The feature stays enabled in the background as long as a device is still linked to it, and that link is what keeps the radio active and drawing power.
To stop it, open Settings ➔ Connections ➔ Wi-Fi ➔ Menu ➔ Wi-Fi Direct, then tap the connected device listed there to disconnect it.
Once no device remains paired, Wi-Fi Direct effectively goes idle and stops searching for or maintaining a connection.
If you use Wi-Fi Direct regularly for file transfers or screen mirroring, disconnecting after each session is enough - you do not need to repeat the full menu path every time, just tap the device again to release the link.
If your phone struggles to find or disconnect a device, turning Wi-Fi off and back on from the same Wi-Fi screen resets the connection completely.
