Adjust Mobile Hotspot Auto-Off Timer auf Samsung
Samsung phones ship with a power-saving feature that switches off the mobile hotspot once no device has been connected for a set period. By default this window is around 20 minutes, which is enough time for a connected laptop to drop off Wi-Fi during a short pause and lose the hotspot entirely.
The setting lives inside the hotspot configuration menu, separate from the main on/off switch. Changing it does not affect data limits or the hotspot password, only the idle timeout.
Where to find the timer
Go to Settings ➔ Connections ➔ Mobile Hotspot and Tethering ➔ Mobile Hotspot ➔ Configure ➔ Advanced ➔ Turn off when no device connected for.
Pick a shorter interval to save battery faster, a longer one to keep the hotspot alive during brief disconnects, or Never to disable the auto shutoff completely. Confirm with Save to apply the change.
Disabling the timer entirely keeps the hotspot running even with no device attached, which drains the battery noticeably faster. It makes sense for a phone that stays plugged in as a stationary access point, but is less practical for everyday mobile use.
