Turn Wi-Fi On/Off Automatically auf Samsung
Samsung's One UI can switch Wi-Fi on or off on its own based on your location history. Whenever you connect to a new network, the phone stores the place where that connection happened. If you return to a location it recognizes often, Wi-Fi turns on automatically, even if you switched it off manually before.
This behavior explains two common complaints: Wi-Fi turning back on shortly after you disabled it, and Wi-Fi staying off at home because the location was not saved as familiar. Both effects come from the same setting and can be adjusted or disabled entirely.
Where to find the setting
Follow this path to check or change the behavior:
Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Connections ➔ Tap on Wi-Fi ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Advanced ➔ Enable or disable Turn on Wi-Fi automatically
Disabling the toggle stops the phone from re-enabling Wi-Fi based on location, but you then need to switch networks on manually every time. Leaving it enabled saves battery on cellular data in familiar places but relies on location services staying active, which itself uses extra power.
If Wi-Fi keeps turning on in places you do not want it active, check whether Location access is granted to system services first. Without it, the automatic feature cannot recognize any location and may behave unpredictably.
