Filter Contacts by Account
If your contact list mixes phone numbers, WhatsApp entries, and other synced accounts, finding the right person gets messy fast. MIUI keeps every synced account in one long list by default, which makes Calls and Messages harder to scan. A built-in filter lets you narrow that view down to only the account you actually need.
Turn Bluetooth On or Off
If a Bluetooth headset, speaker, or car kit will not pair with your Xiaomi phone, Bluetooth is often still switched off or was never fully enabled after a restart. The Quick Settings toggle can also drift out of sync with the actual radio state, which leaves paired devices unable to reconnect until you check the setting directly.
Change SIM Card Name

After switching the region on a Xiaomi phone, a second time suddenly shows up on the lock screen next to the main clock. This happens because MIUI detects a time difference between your set region and your current location or SIM, and the Dual clock feature reacts automatically. You can switch it off entirely or change which region the second clock refers to.
Vibration in Silent Mode: Turn On or Off
When you switch a Xiaomi phone to Silent, it still buzzes for every incoming call or message by default. If you want the device completely quiet without any buzzing on the table, you need a separate toggle beyond the ringer switch itself.
Add Extra Contact Details
Only a phone number and name saved for a contact leaves out useful extras like birthday, nickname, or a website link. On Xiaomi phones, MIUI hides these optional fields behind the standard edit screen, so you never see them unless you go looking. Without filling them in, calls and messages only ever show the bare minimum information for that person.

Xiaomi phones can show a status report for every SMS you send, but the switch for it sits deep inside the Messages app and is easy to overlook. With the setting off you get no confirmation at all, even when the message went through without issues.
Set the Fingerprint Recognition Method (Touch or Press)
If your Xiaomi phone has the fingerprint sensor built into the power button, unlocking with the screen off depends on how the sensor reacts to your finger. Some users notice the phone unlocks too slowly, or not at all, because the sensor expects a light touch instead of a firm press, or the other way around. Switching the recognition method changes how the sensor behaves every time you pick up the phone.
Change Webpage Text Size in Mi Browser
If text on websites looks too small to read comfortably or too large and forces constant scrolling in Mi Browser, the webpage display size is set to the wrong level. Turn Glide Typing On or Off
If typing feels slow because you tap every single letter, Glide typing lets you swipe across the keys instead of lifting your finger. On some Xiaomi phones this swipe input stays off by default, or it keeps running even though you prefer classic tapping. Auto-correction and word suggestions are separate settings and keep working either way.
Allow Gallery Access to SD Card
If Gallery on your Xiaomi phone refuses to save new photos or won't let you delete files on the SD card, it usually means storage access was never granted. Android blocks apps from writing to external storage until you confirm the permission for that specific card. Until you approve it, Gallery can only display existing files but not create, move or remove anything on the card.
Enable Dark Mode in Mi Browser
If Mi Browser still shows bright white pages after the sun goes down, the built-in night option is probably switched off. This setting dims both the browser interface and many web pages, which cuts glare and makes late-evening browsing easier on your eyes.
