Add a Contact Shortcut to the Home Screen auf Xiaomi
Opening the Phone app, searching your contact list and tapping through to a number every time you call someone works, but it adds unnecessary steps for the people you contact daily.
MIUI lets you pin a dedicated contact shortcut directly to your home screen. Tapping that icon opens the contact card instantly, and one more tap starts the call or message, cutting the process down to two taps instead of four or five.
To create the shortcut: Tap on Contacts ➔ Choose a Contact ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Add to Home screen. MIUI places an icon with the contact's photo or initials on your current home screen page.
This works independently of the launcher theme or icon pack you use, since the shortcut pulls the photo stored in the contact card. If a contact has no saved photo, the icon shows the initials instead.
Use this for people you call constantly, such as close family, your main coworker contact, or a partner. For contacts you message more than call, the same shortcut also opens the messaging thread if that is set as the default action.
If the shortcut disappears after a system update, repeat the steps. Uninstalling an alternative launcher can also remove shortcuts created through a different home screen app.
