Manually Add an APN auf Xiaomi
An APN tells your Xiaomi phone how to reach your carrier's mobile data network. Phones usually pull this setting automatically when a SIM card is inserted for the first time, but the entry can go missing after a factory reset, a SIM swap, or a firmware update on MIUI.
When the APN is missing or has the wrong values, mobile data either stops working entirely or only loads occasionally, and MMS attachments often fail even though calls and texts still go through. Adding the correct APN manually fixes this without needing a network reset.
Menu path
Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on SIM cards & mobile networks ➔ Choose a SIM card (Dual SIM) ➔ Tap on Access Point Names ➔ Tap on New APN ➔ Enter the corresponding data ➔ Tap on More ➔ Tap on Save.
Enter the APN name, username, password, and any other field exactly as provided by your carrier, since even a single typo will block the connection. If you use two SIM cards, repeat the process for each one separately, as MIUI stores APN profiles per SIM slot.
If mobile data still fails after saving a correct APN, restart the phone or toggle Airplane mode on and off to force the new profile to load. Persistent failures despite a correct APN usually point to a network-side issue rather than a phone setting.
