Add a Birthday to a Contact auf Xiaomi
The stock Contacts app on Xiaomi phones only displays a small set of fields by default: name, phone number, email. A birthday is treated as an extra data type and only appears once you open the additional fields section inside the contact editor.
To add one, open the contact you want to update and go into edit mode. From there the full menu path is:
Tap on Contacts ➔ Choose a Contact ➔ Tap on Edit contact ➔ Tap on More fields ➔ Tap on Significant date (Label - Birthday) ➔ Enter the Corresponding data and tap Set ➔ Tap on Save
The date only stays attached to the contact after you confirm both the Set step and the final Save. Skipping either step discards the entry, which is the main reason people think the field keeps resetting.
This method works for contacts stored locally on the device or synced through a Google account, since the birthday field is part of the standard contact schema. If you only want a one-time reminder without editing the contact itself, a calendar event is faster, but it won't stay linked to that person's profile the way this field does.
