Add a Keyboard Language auf Xiaomi
When a Xiaomi phone only offers one keyboard language, every foreign word gets autocorrected or underlined as an error. This happens because MIUI installs just one language on the built-in keyboard by default, even though the keyboard app itself supports many.
Adding a language does not replace the current one. It sits alongside it, so you can switch between them without changing any other setting.
Where to add a keyboard language
Open Settings ➔ Additional settings ➔ Languages & input ➔ Manage keyboards ➔ Settings ➔ Languages ➔ Add keyboard. Pick the language you need from the list, confirm the keyboard layout, then tap Done.
Once the language is added, it appears as an extra option on the keyboard itself. You do not need to repeat this for every app, since the change applies system-wide to any text field.
If you type in the new language regularly but the phone keeps switching back, check that autocorrect and text prediction are set up for that language too, since some dictionaries need to be enabled separately after adding the layout.
